Stout done well, solid, dark, malty
I enjoy Porters and Stouts and this is a friendly stout to return to, it has all the rich roasted malt bass-notes you want in a stout, and is not sweet like a milk or oatmeal stout. Hints of molasses depth, easy drinking for that first foamy third of a glass, then you might notice very subtle cocoa/coffee hints bringing in a hint of bitterness. Great value for stout lovers.

A reliable go-to Dark Beer
The 3 Star may seem negative but I feel it is both a reliable dark beer, when you want to contain your costs. Yet it is not the most flavoursome dark given the variety of others out there. The problem of course is many rich tasting dark beers are 2-3x more expensive.
So, one I will always go back to but not the most lavish or luxurious, which is why I only explore dark beers.

Really good
One of my favourite stouts out there. This beer is perfect on a cold night with friends. Thick and a little syrupy this beer warms the cockles of my heart. Grab a bottle and support the 4 Pines.

Good session beer.
Not much coming through on the nose. Very very smooth stout to drink, but not much complexity of flavours. It's probably a good beginner stout, if you've never drank them before. Highly sessionable beer, but just lacking a bit in flavour.
