I first met Chuck Hahn almost 30 years ago at his Hahn brewery in Camperdown, NSW. Back in 1990, I helped out with manual labour on the pack line. Back then taking a few underfilled bottles of Sydney Bitter home was great for a uni student! I was known for using hops and Chuck was known for making sessionable ales. We both judge beer competitions around the world - most recently at the WBC in Nashville where BentSpoke and Malt Shovel Brewery were 2 of only 3 Australian breweries to win medals.It’s good to see this collaboration finally come to ‘brewition’ almost 30 years later!

The Belgian inspired series continues this year with an XBA. Extra Belgian Ale. A rich malty ale using a farmhouse yeast to give nice estery notes.
