This stout is an easy drinker and one for all seasons. While the style is called "sweet stout" this beer isn't really considered sweet. Lactose is used in the brewing process (thus the name- Milk Stout) as it is un-fermentable to brewers yeast. This means the sugar in the lactose remains in the beer as a little bit of sweetness to balance out the dry roast flavour of the malt. Lovely rich flavours of coffee and chocolate are prominent, and then that hint of sweetness at the end helps to marry it all together.
