What’s In the Dark Beer Variety Pack?
The line-up:
1. 8 Wired 15th Anniversary Double Espresso IStout Imperial Stout 330ml Can
15th birthday special release. Søren has always wanted to brew an imperial coffee stout, so for 8 Wired’s 15th birthday, he finally got around to making one! We’ve taken the base recipe for the iconic iStout, and cranked the ABV right up. Using an intense, rich, espresso blend from our friends at Rush, this is truly one mighty coffee experience! ABV 13.5%
2. Slow Lane Fourfold Quadrupel 375ml Can
The biggest of all Belgian beers, Quadrupels follow the monastic tradition of naming beers by their alcoholic strength. Fourfold like traditional quadrupels is characterised by intense caramel, dark sugar and malty sweet flavours. Filled with dark fruit aromas and notes of raisin, dates and figs, this beer is a great candidate for aging in the cellar. ABV 10.5%
3. Akasha Blacksmith Black IPA 375ml Can
Blacksmith is a West Coast style IPA with a difference - black as night in the glass, but with a restrained roasted malt backbone on the palate. This allows the all-American hop bill to shine through with aromas of pine, citrus, and tropical fruit. As always, hops are the focus for us, so our brewers have taken care to craft this as an IPA first, and a black beer second. The hops are supported by the roasted malt bill, rather than drowned out by it - just the way we think a Black IPA should be! ABV 6.8%
4. St Bernardus 12 Quadrupel 330ml Bottle
St.Bernardus Abt 12 is widely regarded as one of the best beers in the world and therefore also the real flagship of our brewery. It is brewed in the classic quadrupel style and adheres to the original 1946 recipe.
Did you know that the St.Bernardus on every thousandth label of a 33-centilitre bottle is winking?
St.Bernardus Abt 12 is a dark beer of top fermentation with a robust head that is ivory in colour. It has a very fruity aroma that is the result of using our own unique yeast. It brims over with different, complex tastes and stands out through its long, bittersweet finish. It is an ideal partner for rich beef dishes and recipes with game. It also forms a perfect match with blue cheese and chocolate. ABV 10%
5. Devilbend Ned's Dark Ale 375ml Can
Presents with refreshing sweetness, balanced by a moderate bitterness. ABV 4.6%
6. Deschutes Black Butte Porter 355ml Can
This is the beer that started it all. A delicate, creamy mouthfeel contrasts with layered depth revealing distinctive chocolate and coffee notes. Dark and rich, yet easy to drink. ABV 5.5%
7. Sunday Road Nitro Stout 440ml Can
Continuing our quest to pay tribute to legendary beer styles from around the globe, this Nitro Stout will have you reminiscing of pulling up a stool in any local tavern in the UK on a cold rainswept winters evening. Rich, malty and touch of bitterness and carbonated with nitrogen for a full mouthfeel. ABV 4.6%
8. Sydney Brewery Dark Lager 375ml Can
Darlinghurst has always been a suburb of contrasts, and this Dark Lager is no different. Perfect through Winter and refreshing in Summer. Chocolate and coffee notes abound with a toasty nuttiness and smooth finish.ABV 4.9%
