Triomf is a top-fermented organic smoked beer, brewed by Brasserie Dupont to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Ghent's Kunstencentrum Vooruit, a former brewery converted into an arts centre.
In order to pay tribute to the historic building's previous incarnation, the Kunstencentrum approached Dupont with a wishlist, and so this custom-made beer came into being.
Pouring amber with a fine white head, the nose is full of smoky, fruity, and toasted malt notes, while the palate is composed of grassy and fruit touches, coupled with malt, flowers, caramel, and a tantalising smoky character.
Set in a light, satin body with moderate carbonation, these characteristics make for a delightful beer with an agreeably dry, bitter finish.
