About The Beer
America may have given birth to the craft beer movement, but it was conceived in Europe. European breweries have the richest, oldest and most influential traditions in the world. There is a reason people call them the classics. Every brewery in this pack has inspired thousands of marvellous imitations, but as with all things, nothing really beats the original.
Only 24 of these are available, so get in quick!
Here's the line-up:
1. St Bernardus Tripel 330ml Bottle
St.Bernardus Tripel is a traditional abbey ale brewed in the classic "Triple" style of Belgium's best Abbey Ales. It has a blond to pale amber color with a wonderful head, slightly sweet aroma and the orangey-grassy flavors of hops in the finish. Wonderfully drinkable and surprisingly light. 8% ABV
2. Westmalle Dubbel 330ml Bottle
Westmalle Dubbel is a dark, reddish-brown Trappist beer with a secondary fermentation in the bottle. The creamy head has the fragrance of special malt and leaves an attractive lace pattern in the glass. The flavour is rich and complex, herby and fruity with a fresh-bitter finish. It is a balanced quality beer with a soft feel in the mouth and a long, dry aftertaste. 7% ABV
3. La Trappe Quadrupel 330ml Bottle
A characteristically Trappist ale with a warm amber colour and a cream-coloured head. The aroma is associated with clover and nuts, balanced by the sweet aromas of vanilla, raisins and banana. La Trappe Quadrupel is the heaviest of all the La Trappe Trappist ales and it is also the source for the name of this style. A full, heart-warming and intense taste. Malty with sweet tones of dates and caramel. The aftertaste is smooth and slightly bitter. 10% ABV
4. La Trappe Isid'or 330ml Bottle
Amber-coloured Trappist ale with a broken white head. A lovely combination of herbal, floral and fruity aromas. La Trappe Isid’or was first brewed in 2009 on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of The Koningshoeven Brewery. The harmonious taste starts off fruity and shifts to malty caramel. A perfectly balanced ale. The ale is named after Brother Isidorus, the abbey's first brewer. The aftertaste is pleasantly bitter. 7.5% ABV
5. Hofbrau Maibock 330ml Bottle
By tradition, the first barrel of Maibock is tapped in the Hofbräuhaus in the last week of April, in time for the merry month of May. The success story of Munich’s oldest bock beer goes back as far as 1614. With its powerfully aromatic flavour and its alcoholic content of some 7.2% volume, Hofbräu Maibock marks one of the high points in the beer-lover’s calendar! 7.2% ABV
6. Hofbrau Original 330ml Bottle
Hofbräuhaus is a symbol of Munich’s hospitality and the Bavarian gift for creating a snug and cosy atmosphere. Beer-lovers from all over the world come here to enjoy its famous beers. 9. Harviestoun Old Engine Oil 330ml Bottle
Down your tools and take a swig of this classic craft stout. Beautifully engineered with premium roasted malt for a velvety mouthfeel. It’s proper vintage stuff. All thanks to the meticulous handiwork of our master brewers. This dark and rich stout was first created in 1999 for a well-known supermarket beer competition, which it won with resounding success. Ever since it’s been a much-loved beer by the brewery and customers alike. 6% ABV
10. Belhaven McCallum's Sweet Scottish Stout Can 440ml
McCallum's is a traditional Scottish stout - rich and dark in colour. A hint of fruit and a touch of sweetness makes it happiness in a bottle. More hops than a kangaroo - if you're a stout fan, you'll love McCallums. 4.1% ABV
11. Pilsner Urquell 330ml Bottle
In 1842, at our brewery in Plzeň, brewer Josef Groll introduced the world to the first golden ‘pilsner’ lager, and changed beer forever. His invention soon became the most popular style of beer on the planet. We’ve brewed Pilsner Urquell in the same brewery using the same recipe for over 175 years. Today, we still insist on using traditional methods, like triple decoction and parallel brewing in wooden lagering barrels. It takes longer but means we never compromise on our taste. Pilsner Urquell’s signature flavour balances sweetness from the triple-decocted malt, and bitterness from our Saaz hops. The thick head of dense wet foam adds smoothness and seals in flavour and aroma. 4.4% ABV
12. Budejovicky Budvar 330ml Bottle
Our premium pale lager is beer for real connoisseurs. The first-class female cones of top-quality Saaz hops, pure clean natural water from 300-metre deep artesian wells and carefully selected grains of a unique cultivar of Moravian barely make the premium lager a drink for real beer experts. 5% ABV
