About The Beer
Country: Belgium
Brewery: Brasserie Fantome
Style: Saison
Format: 750ml Bottle
ABV: 8%
This is a tremendously delicious, textural, and fizzy county ale, bright gold colour, citric and sour, reminiscent of a good champagne or lambic but in a class of its own.
Fantome is 8% ABV, with a wonderfully musty and characterful aroma. There are many drinkers out there who believe this is the “Nectar of the Gods.” Certainly no other brewer makes beer like this, in Belgium or anywhere. How many beers of 8% plus offer such fresh fruitiness? A solid Belgian saison beer at its base, with an unusual overlay of fruitiness.

Cracking Tip:
Since 1988, Dany Prignon has been brewing delicious and unique saisons, whilst earning a cult following amongst beer connoisseurs. This is his flagship beer, with a more structured malt profile than a conventional saison, and refreshingly crisp and dry for an 8% beer.
It's a stunning beer disguised in simple packaging, easily my favourite for this style.
