A worthy brown beer
Downtown Brown is a beer which the guys and gals should all have a taste of - my impression was of a generous hazelnut flavour, with a touch of caramel. Well made, to be certain, but better browns can emerge from the exposure.
This attractive style fits sensibly between the IPA starters and those extraordinarily tasty black brutes. That is, as a progression between styles of beers of merit. Therefore, Downtown Brown has a useful niche at the more serious BBQ or yakfest dinners offering a variety of foods.
As a stand-alone "down-the-hatch" beer after a hard day's work, it is more problematic.
Perhaps its most valuable asset is to bring those who don't know the styles of beers beyond the entry-level IPAs or commercial beers range, and into something more palatable and enjoyable.

Great Brown Ale
Very smooth, not heavy with nutty undertone. Could drink a few in a session

Great beer
Super smooth packing lots of flavour. A bit watery but not overly noticeable, otherwise a great Brown Ale.

Possibly my all time Favourite Brown ale.
If you like brown ale this is probably the best on the market (close or equal to me with Moose Drool). Great choc flavours, good body, just perfect.
