Yeah that’s us right there on mother earth. She’s been giving us so much, we thought it’s time to give a little something back. So we are striving to be better for the environment one beer at a time.
100% renewable electricity, our carbon-neutral brewery, water recycling and sustainable malt bags are just a few things we do to make this beer just a bit more kind for our planet , and you can taste that, we reckon! 90% of the malt for this brew comes from our mates at Gladfield, who has the capability to use bio-fuel to kiln their malt.
They reuse all their steeped water to irrigate their barley and have moved to BOPP malt bags, which keeps their malt fresh, but use 50% less plastic. The other 10% of the base malt comes from YUME’s recycled rice. Their mission is to create a world without waste by facilitating the sale and donation of surplus food that may have otherwise been discarded. Find out more at yumefood.com.au.
