Moritz Epidor can best be described as a Bock. Traditionally a Bock is an amber to dark coloured lager with quite strong malt aromas and flavours and fairly high in alcohol. Moritz Epidor can be sipped at a slightly warmer temperature in the winter months with a strong cheese or a little cooler for a refreshing, full flavoured Bock in the summer.
Pours a darkish orange with an off-white head. Caramel and malts and subtle citrus aroma from the hops. The strong malt character dominates the flavour although it finishes quite dry with pleasant hop bitterness and a touch of alcohol heat. Medium body and medium carbonation.
