This stout is rich, toasty and roasty with an indulgent twist of cinnamon and caramel sweetness thanks to the addition of 250 freshly baked caramelised croissants to the boil from our good mates, and the best bakers we know, Black Cockatoo Bakery.

a nice big dessert stout, but nothing really new
mouthfeel as big and obvious as the alcohol content. Black colour, creamy head. Classic dessert stout chocolate, Malt and hops present but caramel, butter and cinnamon flavours that should have made this beer unique are sadly faint.

Incredibly easy to drink
Not being familiar with pastry stouts, I was expecting something different from my drinking experience - something that was a bit more along the line of novelty style brews that are currently saturating the market (which I, admittedly, do enjoy).
However, what I came across was simply a delicious, very easy to drink, full-bodied stout with sweet elements that remind me of the Prancing Pony's midnight magic carpet ride. It certainly didn't taste like an approximately 11% abv beer.
Would I recommend it for its price point? Probably not - but it definitely is worth drinking if you're willing to fork out the cash for it.
