Chocolate and Crystal Malts give this recipe some serious grunt, pairing with a multitude of spice additions, including cardamom, cinnamon and clove. CTZ and Perle hops are along for the ride too, lending mild bitterness and a hint of pine.
Once poured, wafts of coffee and spice drift from the glass. The palate yields espresso, liquorice and banana bread; evolving as it warms in the hand. It's dry on the finish, with more coffee, black molasses and a hint of cumin.
