Steeped in tradition and forged by fire, our annual decadent and bold porter returns in 2024 with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and subtle hints of smoked wood from Macadamia.
Sitting at 6% ABV, Stone Beer is a bold and decadent, yet super approachable porter that leaves no stone unturned.
Each May, since the beginning of Stone & Wood, we welcome winter by lighting the fire to start the process of brewing our wood-fired porter – Stone Beer. We call it Stone Brew Day.
We begin by brewing a decadent porter with dark roasted malts that provides flavors of coffee and dark chocolate to the beer. Later, on an open fire, we heat volcanic stones sourced from the nearby hinterland, which, when glowing red, are lowered into the kettle lends a smoky, caramel note to the beer. When the wood-fired stones touch the wort a loud ‘hissss’ rises into the air and we celebrate another year of honing our craft and preparing for the future.
A delicious wood-fired dark porter with a firm bitter finish, Stone Beer 2024 is best paired with campfires, fresh air and cold starry nights.
