In honour of our Sunset Ale picking up the trophy for Best Amber/Dark Ale at the recent Australian International Beer Awards, we decided to brew a Double version - Double Sunset.
It has the same percentages of the 8 malts as our Sunset Ale, but we added enough to max out our mash tun. We then added twice the amount of hops in the kettle and also double dry-hopped it with Citra, Galaxy and Cascade hops. Double Sunset is luscious with rich, toffee malt notes and grapefruity hops.
Double Sunset - it's like a beautiful freak of nature.
