In 1999, Wayward founder Pete Philip made his very first batch of home brew, kicking off a beer journey that would culminate in opening the doors at Wayward Brewing Co in September 2015. We figured what better way to celebrate our 6th birthday than to travel back in time and brew a true-to-the-era West Coast IPA using only hops that were available in '99 – Columbus, Centennial and Riwaka.
