Rare, wild and dangerous. We've called it Rhino, the nickname for the F/A - 18 jets that dominate the Hunter's skyline on very special occasions. It's a massive 18% Russian Stout at the extreme end of brewing with the intensity, flavour and resin to navigate its high altitude ABV, it requires 100+ IBUs to pop rivet it together.

To much oomph !!
For me this beer is too 'dark' and overpowering, it's very thick and syrupy. I think 18% for a beer needs to have an amazing balance and I think this one hasn't quite cut it

Deceptively and dangerously delicious
Poured into a Guinness glass it is as black as engine oil with no head (that may be my fault however) Smells very fruity, reminded me more of a port than anything else. It hid the 18% well and it would be very easy to reach for another. If you only have 1 or 2 drinks on a weekend it's perfect, definitely well worth the try

Nothing to write home to Mother about
The Rhino F/A - 18 % IPA blew my mind as I was so different from what I was expecting and any other beer I had ever had. So naturally I was excited to try the Stout. It was just a little bit disappointing. Not that it was bad, it just wasn't radically different from the normal of the style like the IPA was. Just a classic, if very big stout. But not near as heavy and creamy as I was expecting, and whilst the flavour of alcohol is strongly present, you would not think it was 18% ABV.
