Let the darkness overtake you with this barrel aged baltic porter. This strong, dark beer focuses on the toffee or caramel sweetness and chocolate flavour that can be derived from malted barley (rather than the smoky or roast character associated with many dark beers). Moon Jelly was fermented at a low temperature with a lager yeast giving a dangerously smooth and drinkable finished product. Finally, the porter was then aged in American oak barrels for 6 months to mature and develop complexity. The result is flavours of cocoa and molasses with oak tannins and hints of spices and vanilla. Take a sip of this velvet liquid and feel yourself float away.
