It was brewed for good folks with calluses on their hands, doing work that needed to be done. We salute those working-class heroes with our classic Porter, brewed in the hop-forward American style and featuring a depth of malt flavour and complexity with roasted notes of black coffee and cocoa.

Porter Dark Ale with simple Stout character
Just loved this - a dark ale with malty depth and a gentle hoppy bitterness, it's a deep but sweet friendly ale that Stout lovers would appreciate. Definitely one I'll return to!

Getting roasted
An old classic. This is a decent hop forward American-style porter that has strong tastes of roasted cacao nibs, which come courtesy of Aurora bittering hops, with a hint of vanilla bean sweetness behind it. Heavy beer but not thick. Nice creamy head while it lasts.

True to it's style
Served in a beer tulip the dark cola pour generates a white 1 finger head before reducing to a light covering on top. Lacing was OK, some random patches of foam are omitted on the way down. Our first thoughts of the aroma are big, roasted and malty. Chocolate and caramel malts offer a complex array of perfumes including dark chocolate, liquorice, chic, light char, molasses, leather and tobacco. Great depth on display here. The mouth feel is smooth and oily with mild carbonation. Medium Body. Not as weighty as most porters, so the front palate enjoys a nutty and lightly roasted welcoming. Hints of chocolate and raisin ensue through the mid and signs off with a slightly toasted finish. 5.6% ABV is about on par. Look, this definitely has the hallmarks of a great porter but it was just a tad too light for us. Take nothing away from it though, it's true to it's style and highly palatable.
