This pack is definitely not for the faint of heart. We have pulled together six of the most serious, complex and deeply rewarding Imperial Stouts available right now into one pack built for those who know what they want from a big dark beer.
Featuring a vintage release from one of Melbourne's most celebrated breweries, a beloved Victorian craft institution, a New Zealand benchmark, a Baltic bruiser and a Victorian annual release that sells out every single year, every beer in this lineup demands your full attention. These are not session beers. These are sit-down, lights-low, take-your-time beers. As they say, go big or go home.
The Line-Up:
1) Hargreaves Hill Imperial Stout RIS 2025 440ml Can
ABV: 11.2%
A legendary beer from one of Australia's most respected craft breweries. Hargreaves Hill's Russian Imperial Stout is a masterclass in balance and restraint at extreme strength. Deep, dark and intensely aromatic with notes of espresso, bittersweet chocolate, roasted grain and subtle dark fruit, the palate is full and velvety with impressive depth and a long, warming finish that lingers well after the last sip. If you only know one thing about Hargreaves Hill, it is probably this beer. And for very good reason.
2) Jervis Never Mind the Bullocks Imperial Stout 500ml Can
ABV: 11.0%
A bold and unapologetic Imperial Stout from Jervis Brewing that more than lives up to its name. Rich aromas of roasted coffee, dark chocolate and dried fruit lead into a full-bodied, warming palate with layers of complexity, firm bitterness and a long, satisfying finish. At 11% this is a beer that commands respect and rewards patience. One of the most characterful entries in the lineup.
3) 8 Wired iStout Imperial Stout 440ml Can
ABV: 10.0%
A New Zealand craft classic and one of the Southern Hemisphere's most celebrated Imperial Stouts. 8 Wired's iStout is brimming with luscious roasted coffee and dark chocolate malt flavours, balanced by a brisk bitterness and bold freshness from the hops. Full-bodied, complex and endlessly rewarding, it remains one of the benchmarks of the style in this part of the world. Drink it straight, or if you are feeling adventurous, pour half over a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream. You will not regret it.
4) Insel Brauerei British Style Imperial Baltic Stout
ABV: 7.5%
A fascinating and distinctive entry in this pack, Insel Brauerei's British-style Imperial Baltic Stout bridges two great dark beer traditions in one bottle. Smooth, full-bodied and deeply layered with roasted malt complexity, dark fruit and warming depth, this is a beer that reflects genuine brewing craft and a deep respect for the history of the style. Rich, refined and well worth exploring slowly.
5) Bright Brewery Stubborn Imperial Stout 355ml Can
ABV: 10.5%
Every vintage of Stubborn has its own story and this one is no different. Bright Brewery's Stubborn Imperial Stout is one of the most eagerly anticipated annual releases in Australian craft beer, and this vintage delivers everything the loyal following expects. Rich roasted malt character, dark chocolate depth, warming alcohol and a smooth, lingering finish that makes it as good for contemplative sipping as it is for sharing with someone who genuinely appreciates a serious beer. A Victorian benchmark.
OR
Range Rituals 11 Barrel Aged Imperial Stout 440ml Can
ABV: 10.5%
Rituals is the fifth release of our Barrel-aged Stout program and this year we've taken inspiration from our flagship Pastry Stout, Morning Ritual. Rituals II blends Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout from Buffalo Trace and Heaven Hill whisky barrels, our Morning Ritual additions of Coconut and Tahitian vanilla beans, plus we've added an extra addition of Swedish blueberries. On the nose and palate from Rituals II we're getting plenty of dark fruit and caramel with a hint of raisin on the back end from the Buffalo Trace barrels. Coconut and vanilla bring us the Ritual hit that we love before just a light note of blueberry comes through with a rich chocolate filled finish to give us a decadent fruit and nut chocolate vibe.
6) Hawkers Imperial Stout 2026 440ml Can
ABV: 10.5%
Rich, lavish and dark as night, Hawkers' 2026 Imperial Stout is the latest chapter in one of Melbourne's most celebrated vintage stout series. Punctuated by notes of espresso, stewed dark fruit and burnt toffee, the palate is deep, full-bodied and warming with a long, complex finish that rewards every sip. A serious beer from one of Australia's most serious breweries and an essential addition to any Imperial Stout pack worth its name.
