Luna Hazy Pale, from Marrickville maestros Philter Brewing, was originally brewed for the 2026 Australian International Beer Awards following their multiple trophy wins the previous year, and paired with dinner on the night. Luckily for the rest of us, we can now sample it too and pair the beer with whatever takes your fancy… a sirloin steak, a sausage sizzle, or just more beer.
As you may have guessed from the name, this hazy pale comes loaded with HPA’s newly-named hop Luna, formerly known by the rather more prosaic title, HPA-033, plus Citra and Galaxy too. Pouring a lush orange with a big off-white head, it’s a potent, punchy number that brings a rich mouthfeel and a hefty payload of ripe mango, bold berry and spicy citrus to the party.
